Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the environment. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking from an early age. After earning an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most enjoyable time of my life. I could not study or accomplish enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for one year attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. In Italy she gained an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It is a huge influence on how Burrell prepares her food. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children who are facing obstacles and is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. She speaks about her cooking love and imparts her knowledge of the culinary world as she frequently travels throughout the US in various roles such as speakers and mentors. Anne was always grateful that she was able to share her passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
